Canaan is a proud partner of California’s leading hospitals, hospice and home health organizations. Since 1982, Canaan has been a leader in the industry and continues to work with the State of California to implement higher care standards.
We exist to provide the highest level of care at the most affordable rate. We are here to help. For this reason, we created the Canaan Cares Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) group, which helps fund research and care options for elderly and disabled individuals. A portion of every dollar we make goes to the Canaan Cares Foundation.
Canaan Home Care understands both quality and cost are important to most consumers. We are committed to providing the absolute best care at the most affordable prices.
Canaan Home Care strives to provide the absolute BEST caregivers at the most affordable rates. We are committed to working with clients and their families to determine the skills needed vs. budget to best match care needs and expectations.
Regardless of skill or experience, all caregivers are thoroughly screened and exceed state and federal requirements, and all are more than capable of performing all non-medical home care tasks. On average, less than 5% of all applicants pass our tests and stringent standards.

Its terrain includes cliff-lined beaches, redwood forest, the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Central Valley farmland and the Mojave Desert. The city of Los Angeles is the seat of the Hollywood entertainment industry. Hilly San Francisco is known for the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island and cable cars.

Del Mar is a beach town in San Diego County, California, located on the coast of the Pacific Ocean. Established in 1885 as a seaside resort, the city incorporated in 1959. The Del Mar Horse Races are hosted on the Del Mar racetrack every summer.
Del Mar was first settled in the early 1880s by Theodore M. Loop, a railroad official, and his wife Ella. Ella gave the site its name, inspired by Bayard Taylor‘s poem “The Fight of Paso del Mar”. In 1885, Del Mar was officially founded after another settler, “Colonel” Jacob Taylor, purchased the land from homesteader Enoch Talbert.
The town has a wealthy population along the coast and the bluffs above the ocean. However, these properties are very vulnerable to climate change caused sea level rise and subsequent coastal erosion. Already transportation infrastructure has been under threat. The city has a Climate change adaptation plan that notably doesn’t have any managed retreat strategy even though it was recommended by the state California Coastal Commission in 2019.

Most of our caregivers are licensed by the state and are either Medical Assistants, Certified Nurse Assistants (CNAs), Home Health Aides (HHAs), or Licensed Nurses (LVN or RN). All have passed a very thorough screening process, including a 50-state criminal background check, detailed reference checks, behavioral interviews, and caregiver competency tests. On average, less than 5% of all applicants meet our stringent standards.
As of 2016, all non-medical home care companies legally in the State of California will need to be licensed under the Department of Social Services. We have already received our license numbers: 304700021 & 374700014. All of our caregivers are on the California registry and have been cleared to work.
